State Advocacy 2010
As part of our ongoing State Advocacy 2010 effort to assist state and local NAMIs in fighting to maintain mental health services in the current economic crisis, NAMI National has developed a series of resource sheets we’re calling State Statistics.
Below you can download the State Statistics page for Colorado attached. It contains basic information about the state, such as prevalence of mental illness, state mental health expenditures, suicide figures, residents uninsured, and residents enrolled in Medicaid. We hope that these resource sheets will provide the information you need to advocate with your legislators, respond to media calls and build partnerships in your local communities. These facts may be helpful when writing op-eds, letters to the editor, legislative testimony and letters to legislators, or reworked into a legislative handout. Feel free to use only those facts that best support your advocacy agenda.
State Statistics resource sheets for all 50 states and the District of Columbia will soon be posted on our website, .
Please contact Laura Usher (laurau@nami.org) or Angela Kimball (angelak@nami.org) if you have any questions or concerns about your state resource sheet. For additional information about your state, visit www.nami.org/grades09 or consult the sources cited in the State Statistics resource sheet.
